Wedding at Brownsea Island in Dorset with Sian & Dean
A wedding at a castle by the sea…. it doesn’t get more fairytale than that! Oh and the Bride is an incredible florist… I am in heaven.
The weather was typical of summer 2024 with lashings of rain the day before but things really brightened up on the morning of their day and it was absolutely beautiful sunshine all day. There is something so exciting about going across to Brownsea on the ferry and walking up to the castle it’s just magical. The grounds are stunning with countless beautiful backdrops for photos including the pretty pink corridor, the old wall covered in passionfruit climbing vines, and the tiny historical lookout windows. Not forgetting the candlelit St Marys Church built in 1853 and where Sian had created gorgeous flower displays framing the steps to the church entrance.
Sian and Dean are adored by many which meant they not only had their families (and beautiful 3 children) but also their wonderful friends. The whole day was gorgeous and felt straight out of a movie. A highlight for me was watching the bridal party unexpectedly catch the electric squirrel bus to the ceremony and seeing their daughters face light up as they sung the wheels on the bus! Another great highlight was the trip back to Poole Quay on the Dorset Queen and the speeches- especially the Mother of the Bride who absolutely nailed her speech. It was the England v Switzerland Euro semi so lots of guests were temporarily glued to various ipads, laptops and tvs. Thankfully on this occasion it was a WIN timed just as the DJ started which got everyone on the dancefloor! No one needs to mention Englands next game! For the evening the couple had arranged a London Bus to transport the guests from Poole Quay to Bournemouth Pier for a summer evening celebration at Key West who laid on a champagne tower and we were blessed with a golden sunset.
