My maternity photography is really relaxed and natural, and as always I love to get outdoors. It’s a wonderful way to capture and remember a truly magical time in your life.
So here are a few of my tips:
Location – Consider what time of year it is and use this to your advantage. In Dorset we are spoilt for choice with beauty spots, perhaps somewhere you love as a couple that no doubt you’ll visit together when the baby is here. Some couples like to revisit their wedding photo location. When the weather is against us I can find beautiful pockets of light within your home.
Outfits – Again, consider the season and you really want to accentuate your gorgeous bump. In summer a simple maxi dresses can look beautiful especially in white against a soft beach. Whereas in Autumn a cosy blanket, cards or shawl can look gorgeous to keep you wrapped up against a forest backdrop. If the Dad to be is going to make an appearance make sure your colours don’t clash and avoid any clothing with slogans/text as its a bit distracting. Don’t forget to accessorize with hats, jewellery etc.
The Dad-to-be & Siblings – I love getting everyone involved for group hugs, siblings and bump cuddles are the cutest!
Props- If there are any special baby items that you’d like to incorporate into your photographs then bring them along. Baby shoes, ultrasound photos, letter blocks, or a teddy all look gorgeous in some shots! Its always good to bring a blanket just in case we decide to sit on the floor.
Relax- The most important thing is to feel relaxed and do not worry I won’t be making you pose in a cringy way!! The prettiest thing you can wear is a smile so let me guide you and enjoy rocking that bump!
I offer a bump & baby package which includes all of the digital images from both of your shoots on a USB stick for £199.
